Lisa
Lisa holds a Master of Arts degree in special education from the University of Colorado and earned a K-12 endorsement in that area. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Colorado where she graduated with honors. Lisa worked for Jeffco Public Schools for thirty-two years. The first ten years were spent teaching fourth- and sixth-grade students with learning and emotional disabilities. After that, Lisa spent the next twenty-two years teaching fourth and fifth grade at Kyffin Elementary, right here in the Golden area. While at Kyffin, she took on many leadership roles, including sponsoring the Student Council for many years. She began working for Golden Tutoring in 2017 and loves working with third through eighth-grade students. Lisa has a passion for working with children and teenagers and enjoys finding engaging materials and methods that match a student’s learning style. One of the best aspects of tutoring students is establishing a strong relationship with the students and helping them reach their full potential by differentiating material to adapt to their individual needs. When not tutoring, Lisa enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, Zumba classes, traveling, reading, and socializing with friends and family. She and her husband, Tim, have two grown children and two beautiful grandchildren, born four months apart. Lisa enjoys babysitting her son’s little boy and her daughter’s little girl and feels so fortunate to have both families in the Denver area.
