Sam
Sam graduated Summa cum Laude from Carleton College with a B.A. in Classics and a minor in Archaeology, after which he taught middle and high school English, history, Latin, and geography. He began tutoring professionally during college and has since worked with middle school, high school, and college level students, understanding how to develop those skills necessary for both short and long term positive academic performance. Sam understands the symbiotic relationship between confidence and success, especially for high school age learners, and seeks to help students find a joy for learning along with the confidence and practical skill-sets to help them thrive at all levels.
In addition to tutoring and teaching work, Sam is a professional archaeologist. He works with an international archaeology project in the Greek Cyclades as their database manager, and particularly enjoys ceramic analysis. Most recently, he has collaborated on a publication, forthcoming in the Journal of Greek Archaeology. He has also previously worked for the US Forest Service near Steamboat Springs and holds a deep love for the RNF. In his free time, Sam enjoys skiing, coaching lacrosse, D&D, reading new books, and is slowly teaching himself to play the banjo.
