Demetria
A Denver native, Demetria graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a degree in elementary education. She has spent the last fifteen years teaching in Denver private and charter schools including Graland, Logan, Highline Academy and Roots Elementary. She has also worked at the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processing Center as a clinician and one on one reading tutor and has completed Orton Gillingham comprehension training as well as Love and Logic training for educators. Demetria loves working with children and igniting the love of learning! Her strongest belief in student learners is that the best way to learn anything is by doing, making mistakes and doing it again (growth mindset). Using experiences pulled from many years of teaching reading, writing, math, science and social studies, in addition to experiences working with a few of the scientifically proven reading programs, Demetria works to create a fun, interactive and focused plan to bolster any student’s skill set. In her free time, Demetria loves to garden, listen to jazz and travel with her husband Ramon and their dog, Cocoa.
