Melissa
Melissa feels fortunate to have experienced incredibly passionate and professional teachers and coaches while exploring academics and athletics throughout her life. Their positive influence guided her through a lifelong interest in science and sport, starting at Princeton University, where she earned her BA in Evolutionary and Environmental Biology and was captain NCAA Div I Volleyball team. When given the opportunity to teach and coach a diverse group of students, including Title 1, ESL, special education and gifted and talented, in the California Bay Area, Melissa found that she could give back a little of the inspiration given to her. Through guided learning with a strong understanding that each student has differing needs, Melissa hopes to instill the self-confidence in students to become life long learners.
