Karin J.
Karin graduated with honors from the California Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science in biology. She continued her education at Yale University, receiving a doctorate in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. An interest in bioremediation led her to the Center of Marine Biotechnology in Baltimore where she studied anaerobic microbes that are breaking down pollutants in the Baltimore harbor. She has taught in chemistry departments at the University of Maryland, Colorado School of Mines and Red Rocks Community College. Karin homeschooled her own children through elementary school before pursuing a career as a high school chemistry and math teacher at Golden View Classical Academy. Karin especially enjoys patiently guiding and encouraging struggling students and sharing in their joy when they grasp a difficult concept. She very much looks forward to helping more students in the Golden area! When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys gardening, learning about native plants, Nordic skiing and hiking in the Colorado mountains with her family.
