Andreas
Andreas has been a tutor with GTE for several years, working with students in mathematics, physics, and German. He is patient and encouraging and adapts his approach to each student’s needs and learning style. He especially enjoys making difficult ideas understandable, helping students become more confident, and building rewarding relationships with students and their families.
Originally from Germany, Andreas came to the United States as a Fulbright scholar after studying in Germany and Spain. He earned his Ph.D. from the Colorado School of Mines and later worked as a professor, principal technical advisor, and chief geophysicist. He authored several books and received an international award for his contributions to geophysics. Throughout his career, teaching and mentoring others has always been the work he found most rewarding.
A longtime Golden resident, Andreas is married and has two grown daughters. Outside of tutoring, he volunteers as an instructor with the Colorado Mountain Club, enjoys exploring the remote outdoors, and travels the world.
