Andreas
Andreas is a longtime Golden resident and arrived in the USA as a Fulbright scholar after studying in universities in Germany and Spain. At the Colorado School of Mines, he obtained a Ph.D. for tackling mathematical and physical problems and was honored to receive the best young geophysicist award by his American and international peers. During his career as a principal technical advisor and chief geophysicist in industry and as a professor at CSM, Andreas authored/co-authored four books, taught classes, and chaired an international scholarship committee.
Andreas tutored and mentored students of all ages and skill levels (elementary to college) in mathematics, physics, computer programming, and German. Tutoring and working with students is a way for him to now pass on his enthusiasm for knowledge and science to a new generation. Looking back at his career in academia and industry, Andreas has most enjoyed teaching and mentoring students and helping them thrive personally and academically.
Andreas is married and has two wonderful daughters. He volunteers as an instructor for the Colorado Mountain Club, enjoys the remote outdoors, and travels the world.
