Andrea
Andrea graduated from Indiana University with majors in biology and history as well as a minor in math. She moved to Colorado and began teaching in Jefferson County in the fall of 1997. Since then, she has taught middle school math, science, and social studies, while also becoming certified in Gifted and Talented Education. She remained in middle schools for nineteen years before making a switch to elementary eight years ago. Andrea currently teaches GT 5th grade at Kyffin Elementary. She was the “Golden Apple Teacher of the Year” in 2018 and the “JAGC GT” teacher of the year in 2020. She knows that every kid learns in different ways and excels at designing lessons and examples that are understandable and empowering. At home, Andrea has two kids of her own, now in high school, and understands the many issues that come with supporting your children to be successful in school.
