Ron is a recently retired Jeffco teacher with twenty-five years of classroom experience. Primarily a physics teacher, Ron taught various but interrelated courses in mathematics, earth systems science, energy resources, and engineering and robotics. Ron earned a BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University and an MEd with a concentration in Instructional Technology from the University of Denver. His strong technical background and his ebullient love of all things STEM underpinned a career that inspired and prepared thousands of scientifically literate and career-ready students. Ron excels at making challenging material relevant and accessible by building on students’ prior knowledge and lived experience in the physical world. His own favorite physical world pursuits include cycling, snow and paddle sports, DIY-anything and traveling.
