Megan graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a major concentration in reading and minors in Spanish & Global Studies from Purdue University. Boiler Up! She has 6 years of teaching experience in grades 1, 3 and 4. Megan is very experienced in differentiating lessons for diverse groups of learners, and meeting students where they’re at to meet specific needs. Megan has a strength for developing relationships with students and getting them excited to learn.

Megan has experience with commonly used reading curriculums including Wonders & Journeys and math curriculums EngageNY, Investigations, and EnVision Math. Her preferred approach for reading includes Jan Richardson’s Guided Reading Model, including systematic word study, guided writing and comprehension, and Fountas & Pinnell balanced literacy approach; phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency and reading comprehension.

Megan is excited to tutor students from grades K-4 in math & literacy! She uses a hands-on, interactive approach to teach reading, writing, and math and looks forward to helping your student.
