Lisa has a MA in special education from the University of Colorado and holds a K-12 endorsement in that area. She also earned a BS in elementary education from the University of Colorado where she graduated with honors. Lisa spent ten years teaching fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students with academic and emotional disabilities. After that, she spent twenty-two years at Kyffin Elementary in Golden as a fourth and fifth-grade teacher. After a thirty-two year career in Jeffco Schools, Lisa began working for Golden Tutoring in 2017. She has a passion for working with children and enjoys encouraging students to reach their full potential. Lisa believes that every child is a learner and enjoys differentiating material to adapt to individual student needs. When not teaching, Lisa enjoys biking, hiking, swimming, Zumba classes, traveling, reading, and socializing with friends and family. She and her husband, Tim, have a grown daughter who teaches in Jeffco Schools as well as a grown son who works as a golf pro in Castle Rock.
