Colette grew up in Austin, Texas but wanted to get to the mountains as soon as possible. She moved to Colorado for college and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a B.A. in Anthropology. After college, she worked as an instructor at various outdoor schools in Colorado and California. This experience made her realize that she really wanted to be a teacher! She then enrolled at Texas State University to pursue an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction and a secondary mathematics teacher’s license. After spending one month of summer in Texas, Colette immediately moved back to Colorado. She has been a high school math teacher for thirteen years, with a focus on algebra 1 and statistics. Colette absolutely loves teaching and tutoring, and making mathematics less intimidating.
