Dates and times for the March/April 2024 SAT Prep Workshops at First United Methodist Church in Golden*:

*Sunday, March 3, 1-5 pm: Reading & Writing Workshop

*Sunday, March 10, 1-5 pm: Math Workshop

Independent practice highly encouraged between 3/11 and 4/6

Private tutoring may also be available (depending upon availability) after 3/10 if needed to specifically address areas of concern

These weeks before the proctored exam will give students time to practice independently and/or commit to private tutoring to address any areas of concern before the mid-April SAT exam.

*Sunday, April 7, 1-4 pm: Proctored Official SAT Practice Exam (using College Board practice test #4 so please do not practice with that particular exam)

*Students who are registered for the “one on one coaching” 30 minute session with Josh, will meet with him at a TBD date/time after the proctored exam to discuss how it went and strategize for improvement and focused independent practice between 4/7 and 4/15 (the actual exam day).

Actual 2024 SAT exam for juniors will be on Monday, April 15th or Tuesday, April 16th, depending upon the school.

 

Our ninth annual Feb/March 2024 SAT Prep Workshops are:

  • An in-person SAT prep workshop for juniors in high school who would like to prepare for the April SAT exam
  • An excellent way to prepare for one or both of the sections of the new digital SAT exam
  • An opportunity to practice with official new SAT questions and College Board practice tests
  • A direct presentation of skills and strategies students need with GTE’s most experienced SAT instructor, Josh
  • A live, dynamic demonstration of sample questions
  • A chance to affordably prep and keep business local
  • A chance to support a business that helps its community with need-based SAT/ACT prep scholarships
  • An opportunity to take an official proctored practice SAT exam.

 

Literacy Launch™ Workshops (not currently offered):

  • Hands-on, integrated approach to literacy.
  • Help 1st and 2nd graders develop active reading skills.
  • Include literacy games and fun activities!
  • Developed by a master elementary education literacy teacher.

MATHrive™ Workshops Are (not currently offered):

  • 60 minutes of after-school math fun and games in an active, hands-on, noncompetitive, and investigative workshop for 1st through 5th graders.
  • An opportunity to broaden student’s problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, while also strengthening basic skills
  • A balance of logical, spatial, linguistic, and kinesthetic learning
  • A creative method of challenging all students and nurturing a love for math
  • A chance to receive homework help in a comfortable environment

Types of MATHrive™ Workshops (not currently offered):

Boost

Boost workshops are for students who are either below or at grade level in math and want to improve their skills. Math skills are sharpened through reviewing concepts in a fun and learning-packed workshop. We also provide 15 minutes of homework support for students who need help.

Enrich

Enrich workshops are for students who are either at or above grade level in math and who enjoy being challenged in new ways. Students’ abilities to problem-solve and think critically will be strengthened in this fun and learning-packed workshop. 4th and 5th grade students also receive 15 minutes of homework support when needed.

All MATHrive™ Workshops maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio!
